Our Bandsmen of the future
Practice Makes Perfect,
The Junior band in session
Big Breaths
Welcome to the Barton Town Band
After beats are important
Last year we expanded our youth section into a full youth band and we purchased a
complete new set of instruments. We were assisted in this from a large number of
organizations and businesses, for this assistance we thank them greatly.

Our youth band members all received an instrument and they are required to attend a
weekly half hour lesson and also a one hour band practice. We also arrange for them to
enter into graded examinations .

All of our music lessons are performed by qualified and experienced teachers.

The band is constituted with Child Protection in mind and we require that all people
having involvement with the youth band be criminal record bureau checked as well as
supplying references from involvement in other activities where children are present.

If you or your children have the desire to learn to play a brass instrument then please
contact us so we can answer any queries you may have, see our 'contact us' page for
details.

Joint Concert with the Youth Band and launching
the new Junior Band including our annual Awards
& Presentation Evening
A perfect evening! I am sure you will all agree. So much hard work over the last few years from
all involved came to a roaring crescendo on the 15th March in the Assembly rooms.

This truly is what Banding is all about!

Awards were given for attendance, performance, solos, improvement and decorum. Our
congratulations go to all who received a commendation for their work and commitment.

Well Done!
It is our belief that hard work and perseverance should be acknowledged and rewarded.  These
awards along with continued encouragement go a long way towards building confidence and to
setting a target for our students to aim for.

The mayor and mayoress presented Jonathan
with a Silver Cup for the band to use in its Junior
Band Awards.
The cup is to be presented to the Junior Band
Bandsman of the Year. The bandsman who has
shown themselves to be a real team player and
has given 110% over the last year. Their name
will be inscribed on the cup, and we will be
waiting for a star of the future's name to appear.

Two New
Members
for the
Junior Band
This evening saw the launch of our new Junior Band and with the Youth Band we had 54
children and young people performing before a capacity crowd in the Town's Assembly
Rooms. With Andrew Bontoft wagging the stick and a host of guests giving the prizes we were
never going to disappoint the players, their parents and grand parents.
