Garry studied music at Leeds and Birmingham and became an Associate of Birmingham School of Music in both teaching and performing on the French Horn. As a freelance professional in London he played with, among others, the Doyle Carte ballet company. As well as brass banding for the
joy of it, he currently holds down education posts on both banks of the Humber – as music service consultant to North East Lincolnshire Council, and as Head of Brass at the Hull Collegiate School, Tranby Croft.
As well as Conducting Gary also finds time to play the Tenor Horn with the East Yorkshire Motor Services Brass Band, and French Horn with the Kingston Brass Quintet. He also plays keyboards and has just spent much of December playing and directing the Christmas Pantomime in
Bridlington – Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs.
